Guidance

  Fairfield Elementary currently has one full-time counselor who is certified through the State Board of Education. The guidance counselor works collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to help students succeed. The counselor supports student success by delivering monthly guidance lessons that promote character development and teach skills such as resolving conflicts, making good choices, and respecting others. Additionally, individual and small group counseling is available (with parental knowledge and consent) to those students needing additional support with such issues as organizational skills, having a parent deployed, the death of a family member, etc. Parent education workshops are offered at various times of the school year to help parents in areas such as homework, discipline, and SOL test success.
