About Mrs. Peperak
I began my college career as an art history major at UCLA.  When I returned to school after having two sons and moving to Pennsylvania, I obtained my degree in elementary education.  My first teaching job was full day kindergarten in a small private school.  Within the first three years of teaching I completed my Masters of Education degree from the University of California in Pennsylvania.  We moved here to Virginia Beach in 1979.  I’ve taught fourth grade, second grade, and kindergarten before transferring into the gifted resource program.  I’ve been teaching for thirty-two years, sixteen of which have been in gifted education.
I enjoy pursuing my creative side by painting, making jewelry, or working on the potter’s wheel in my “free time”.  Reading is a passion of mine.  Enjoying my garden and cooking also occupy time away from school.

                                              My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that each child loves to learn and that they can hit any target set before them. Learning never ceases throughout one's life. My goal is to provide a positive, cooperative, learning environment so that students have the skills to become life-long learners.  Providing opportunities to stretch in the areas of problem solving, creative thinking, and self-reflection are parts of this process. I look forward to working with you in making this a combined effort to bring out your child’s personal best.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns you may have.
